🔥 Unpopular opinion: It’s Inclusion Week… but why are we only talking about inclusion NOW?
Don’t get me wrong — awareness weeks matter.
They start conversations. They get people talking. They shine a light on experiences that are too often overlooked.
But inclusion shouldn’t have a week. It should have 52 of them.
Real inclusion is what happens when the awareness post disappears from the feed.
It’s in the meeting where someone is given a different way to contribute.
It’s in the workplace where adjustments are normalised rather than treated as an inconvenience.
It’s in the family, community or friendship group where someone doesn’t have to constantly explain why their brain works differently.
And it’s creating spaces where people can say:
💬 “This is what I need.”
without feeling difficult, awkward or like a burden.
So yes — let’s absolutely celebrate Inclusion Week.
But let’s also use it as a reminder that inclusion isn’t a campaign.
It’s something we need to practise all year round.
🧠 At Different Brains Group, we want to help turn conversations about neurodiversity and inclusion into practical support.

🤝 And join us for our Inclusion Community Event this October — a space to connect, talk, share experiences and build a community where different brains are genuinely included.
Let’s make inclusion something we do, not just something we post about.
